How Blog And Email Marketing Differ

A lot of people want to lump blog marketing and email marketing together. Even though they have some similarities, they are different. The way you market your product or service is different depending on whether you are using your blog or sending an email to your list. Some people use both forms of marketing while others only use one. When you use your blog to promote a service or product it is called blog marketing. You use your blog to get the word out about a product that you are recommending. You need to attract traffic to your blog so people can see the product you are selling. There are many ways to drive traffic to your blog. You can exchange links with other relevant blogs. You can also leave comments on relevant blogs with a link back to your blog with the hope that people will come visit your blog. You can also use paid advertising. You need to ensure that you are constantly providing new content on your blog so you will continue to attract repeat visitors. When you send an email to your list describing a product or service then you are doing email marketing. You can get people on your list by offering a free give-away in exchange for their email address. Typically, you will put links to your products and affiliate links in your email. In order to retain the people on your list, you need to provide great content to your list as well. You can provide free resources, free books, relevant news or free tools to your list to keep them engaged. Even though blog marketing and email marketing are similar, there are many differences. When you are doing blog marketing, you include what you are selling in your blog post. For email marketing, you send an email to your list. People are part of your list because they have opted in based on some give-away that they received in exchange for their email address. With blog marketing, the people have to come to you to see the offer. With email marketing, you send the offer to your prospects. Whether you want to employ blog marketing or email marketing, you can achieve the goals you have set. There is work associated with both methods and this is not a "get rich quick" scheme. Online marketing takes persistence and consistency. If you continue to offer value to your customer, more visitors will visit your blog and more people will join your list. Build Your Online Business With Your Blog - How To Use Your Posts To Your Optimal Advantage

Creating blog posts that can build your business is a worthwhile endeavor. You will find that over time your blog will bring you the best prospects and clients, and that the content you create there will represent you well as an online entrepreneur and authority in your business. Let's discuss the topics you will write about in your blog posts, the keywords you will use, and the way you will promote your posts once they are written.
In the very beginning I believe everyone struggles with coming up with ideas to write about on their blog. That leads to writing about anything and everything, a huge mistake if you want to brand yourself in a specific area. Your blog is not a diary or journal if it is for your business. Choose the topics that are of interest to your target market. Make a list of these topics and learn as much as you can about them as you research and write.
Keywords are so important to being found online. Take a look at your competitor's blogs to see which words and phrases they are including on their blog. Then go over to Google to search for more information. If you are diligent in your keyword research you will find that the same phrases keep popping up. Use these as a starting point to be able to jump into the conversation and become known as an authority in your niche.
Once you have written a few blog posts it is time to market what you do to your audience. Start with article marketing, where you write articles to submit to the article directories. These articles will be found by your target audience and read on a regular basis. You will also want to set up your blog to post automatically on Facebook and Twitter. The idea is to syndicate your content so that you are seen everywhere. As you build your list, make sure they know that you have a blog by including links to your posts within your emails. Ask people to leave a comment and to interact with you on social media. All of this gets your name out to the world in a big way.
You can see that blogging is a very powerful marketing strategy. You own and control your blog, so make sure you are taking advantage of your platform wisely. Post twice a week for the first year and your business will grow exponentially.
